Nice little scooter

by E. Stevenson 2009-10-16, 13 people found this review helpful
I wanted a scooter to take around town instead of using my gas guzzling car. I had a 49cc scooter, but I sold it and got this instead. Even though it goes half of the speed of the gas scooter, it's much much quieter (not that it doesn't make a sound, it does). It was pretty easy to get together and I zipping around in no time. I'm never going back to a gas scooter or bike again.

Advantages:

No pollution
The handlebars fold up and seat comes off very easily, like a Dahon folding bike, for easy storage
Smooth ride

Disadvantages:

Not really powerful. This is for moving around town, not going on long rides.
Range. It goes 12 miles. Which means, going at a constant maximum speed, you'd get almost 50 minutes of use of it.

fun ride!

The zip 750 is a blast! It has great acceleration. I was surprised. I wish this one had an adjustable seat and handle bar, so my 7 year old could ride this with better control. My 95 lb 11 yr old loves it. I am going to purchase another one of these for mom and dad to ride with the kids.

Happily Ever After

When I purchased these product for my 11 year old son I was a little nervous. He had a Razor E300 that would never hold the charge for long. Then as time progressed it started only holding the charge for literally 5 minutes and then it had to be recharged. This e-Zip is amazing. It was easier to assemble than the razor. It has more power than the razor and the charge holds alot longer. I am very pleased with this product. My son is having a blast! I've read some bad reviews about this product before I was going to purchase it, but I'm glad I went with my gut and bought it. I guess I got lucky! GO GREEN!

Strongly recommend

I purchased another type of electric scooter and was very unhappy. A friend recommended the e-zip..... WOW what a difference. I'm VERY HAPPY with the e-zip 750. Great acceleration.

Great Scooters. I am very happy with mine

I bought the 650 about 6 months ago. I have been very happy with it. I weigh 210 and most of the area around here is flat. It does hills no problem but it does eat up energy to do that. Range is fine. I go 8 to ten miles on mine, maybe more, I can't tell - conserving the battery- not going max speed. It is a great machine. Well made. Congrats to Schwinn.

DEFECTIVE INNER TUBES

by Badzilla 2010-05-26, 3 people found this review helpful
Cheap Chinese (mainland) made stuff. One imprint on the bike says "Chinese patent..." haha, good luck with that. The bike is fun, but it is heavy. The original inner tubes and the replacements Currie customer service sent to me are defective, they leak. Apparently they are having a problem with the rear tire inner tubes, the one with the easy to use bent valve stem.

Absolutely fantastic!

I purchased 3 of the e-Zip 750s, unfortunately not from Amazon b/c at the time a competitor had them offered at a better price.

In short - it's fantastic! I'm 40-ish, and riding this makes me feel like a kid again! Must add that although they are built in China, the build quality is great, it's very solid and well-constructed. Instructions were clear (with TONS of safety warnings, I'm sure put in by their attorneys due to our over-litigious society), and the scooter's performance is very good. Only small gripes: I'm about 185#, and I'd wish for about 20-25% more power. Not that it's underpowered, but going up hills with me onboard definitely slows it down. For lighter riders, it's not an issue at all. Also, this model has a side-pull front brake only; it'd be safer with front and rear brakes, and ideally disc brakes. But higher models have this, I am sure this was a trade-off made for the price point.

Also forgot to add: the interest and positive reaction these receive from bystanders is amazing! I have some exotic cars, and I think this scooter gets more thumbs-up, smiles, and inquiries! It's pretty amazing the reaction it gets. Even moreso in Europe, where I brought one for seasonal use. There's a LOT of interest in the scooter, and I'm surprised Currie doesn't do more to advertise/demonstrate them; I am sure they could sell a bunch more if more people were made aware just how cool these little scooters are.

In summary: this is a well-built and engineered, fun, and environmentally friendly little means of transport! I find excuses ('oh, just realized, need to go to the post office again') to take it out, it's that fun. Get one, whether you're a 13-year old or 43, you will love it.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (and I am in no way affiliated with Currie technologies).

Best electric scooter for the money

by Viper123 2009-10-12, 3 people found this review helpful
Runs great. I have owned it for a couple of months now and the only problem I had was a flat tire. The battery life and power is amazing. Ofcourse if you are doing a lot of hills and going at top speed it will drain the battery quicker but what a blast it is to ride. If you are looking for an electric scooter this is it, you won't be disappointed.

Unsafe at any speed

by D. Gulliver 2010-06-26, 2 people found this review helpful
This electric scooter wobbles uncontrollably, as we found out. My daughter's friend was riding this scooter at half speed when it wobbled dramatically, crashing and breaking both her front teeth. I tested it and there is a lot of front wheel wobble at faster speeds. The design of the front wheel assembly of this scooter is dangerous. Too bad, since the rest of it looks to be well made. It is going in the trash. I would not recommend it to anyone.

EZIP has made our lives better

by Robert J. Aronson 2010-05-29, 2 people found this review helpful
I am a 71 year old man with serious but not life threatening lung disease (COPD) so I can't walk very far without getting winded.

My wife is a jewelry artist who sells her colorful anodized aluminum jewelry at art shows around the country. Usually I try to visit her tent a couple of times a day so she can eat lunch and get a break but sometimes I can't find a parking place and the result is that she often doesn't eat lunch and can't even get to a restroom.

Feeling badly I did a lot of research and decided to buy the EZIP 750 electric scooter and couldn't be happier. I didn't want a "mobility" scooter because they are much too slow and I am not disabled, actually I am quite agile for a guy my age. Now I can park a mile or more from the art show, get on my scooter and zip to my wife's tent comfortably, quickly and safely. An added benefit is that because the scooter is electric and I don't have to drive endless blocks looking for a parking place I'm burning less gas and emiting fewer polutants into the air. The Ezip 750 is also easy to get in an out of our van even though it weighs 70 pounds. I have added a basket, front and rear lights and a new "softer" seat and am really enjoying the experience. My wife says that while I ride the scooter it really was bought for her convenience and relief.

Thank you again Amazon and EZIP, you've made our lives a whole lot easier.
